Remember last week when I told you guys about my 4 Fall Goals? Well, I’ve already started one of them (I know, it’s pretty exciting!) This weekend I started the long project of organizing my desk; this is not a project that I could possibly finish in one day, or even a few days. It’s a long-term project that I will keep working on when I have little chunks of time between studying. But this weekend, I decided to start with the organization-fest with my makeup and various desk tools.
My Desk: Before

As you can see from the photo, this part of my desk was a disaster. I use this half to do my makeup in the mornings, and also to store various desk tools—stapler, hole-punch, etc. My drawer was a mess of wasted space, so I decided to clear my desk and shove it all into the drawer in an organized and functional way!
The After-Story (Epilogue)

Look at how cute and organized it looks! I took a couple of old boxes–one from an old phone, and the other was my iPhone box and repurposed them to make cute and functional storage for my makeup. I love it—I can see exactly what I’m grabbing rather than sorting through a jumbled bag to find what I need. Putting everything in the drawer cleared my desk of clutter—it is so much cleaner now, all I need is my makeup mirror!
I have quite a project ahead of me, but once my desk is finished I know I will be more productive, more organized, and overall happier! I’m actually pretty embarrassed about how messy my desk gets, considering how organized (you might say OCD) I usually am. But I feel good about taking on this project. It gives me something to do during those much-needed study breaks.
Question of the Day:
How are you doing on your fall goals?
I’m happy to have started on my goals—it makes me feel like I will actually get something done this year, instead of having tons of aspirations and never getting around to them. Yay! I’m also working on my photography—I’ve started a little personal project that I like to call “My Life in Instagram.” I’m trying to take at least one photo with Instagram every day to capture my life: all of the little things that make me happy, pretty things, or cool things I happen upon in daily life.
