The art of sculpting with grad student Doug Sink
CSU graduate student Doug Sink, now in his third year at CSU, takes sculpting to another level. In this video, Doug works on elements of his sculpted piece entitled “Origins” at a coal forge. The forge, similar to the type used by blacksmiths to build armor for medieval knights, is a technology that dates back centuries. “Origins,” which also incorporates wood and wool, went on display this week at the University Center for the Arts.
For Doug, art is the most important part of his CSU experience. As a grad student, he has had the opportunity to teach classes in the art department as a TA. He hopes to one day teach art as a college professor.
