X’perience: Time to Lemme Upgrade Ya

by Xavier on October 31, 2012

I love having a laptop; I can accomplish multiple things in a mobile and comfortable manner. It’s literally a computer that you can carry with you. That’s amazing! I know that we are all aware of what a laptop is and what it does, but it’s always good to take a second and recognize how privileged we are to have such incredible technology.

What I do not love is having a laptop with problems. I have had this Dell for about three years and some change, and I think it’s beginning to show its age. I will give it this much – it has endured some intense software processing and activity. I have downloaded so many songs and installed numerous MMORPGs on this laptop. It is not equipped to handle half of what I have done with it, but still it manages to Apple_Macbook_Pro_13push through. It is at this time that I am beginning to decide whether or not to buy a new laptop, and which kind at that.

Apple of my eye

I am strongly considering getting a MacBook. Those laptops are very good quality, work well with design, and are super cool. I want a laptop similar to the one that a previous roommate has: a 15 in. MacBook Pro. The screen is the perfect size and the laptop works wonderfully. The only thing is they are quite the investment. I could manage the buy if I really wanted to, but I am not sure that I am willing to spend that much money on a computer like that at this time.

I could always go with a PC. I am very familiar with how PCs work and they are much more affordable than MacBooks. I’m sure I could get a laptop that meets my needs for less than a thousand dollars. But in this case, I would definitely be settling. If I’m going to upgrade, I want to go with something nice that will last me a while. At the same time though, I do not wish to spend all sorts of money that I don’t really have. Decisions.

If you have a suggestion as to what I should do, please share. I would love some helpful direction. Until Friday friends, catch ya later.
