Engineering Student Teaches Robotics through CSU's STEM Program

January 28, 2009

At CSU, getting an education means hands-on work, and mechanical engineering student Daniel Wilson is getting just that. Wilson is a student teacher at Poudre High School instructing students in an Introduction to Robotics class. When he’s not teaching, Wilson devotes his time and knowledge to the school’s robotics team, which competes at a national level.

Wilson is able to do all of this through CSU’s STEM program. STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) is a program co-sponsored by the College of Engineering and the School of Education. Essentially, STEM gives engineering students the tools to become good teachers in the classroom.

This college student’s trip back to high school is about both teaching and learning. Add some robots into the equation and it’s a great time!
